How we work on this
Marble is soft, and most of what looks like dirt is not dirt. Dull patches, cloudy rings and fine scratching are usually surface damage — etching from something acidic, or wear from grit walked in over years.
Cleaning alone will not lift any of it, which is why marble so often looks disappointing after an ordinary clean. The work is mechanical. We clean the stone first, then work the surface with progressively finer diamond abrasives until the finish is even again and the light sits properly across the floor.
How far we go depends on the stone and the damage — some floors need a full pass, others need honing in specific areas and polishing throughout.
Marble also needs sealing to stay looking right. An unsealed floor takes stains from wine, oil and citrus almost immediately.

How much does marble polishing cost?
Marble polishing in Paphos is priced by area and by the condition of the stone, because a floor needing a full pass is a very different job from one needing a polish. Send photos over WhatsApp, ideally with light across the floor so the marks show, and we will quote free with no obligation.
Can dull or scratched marble be brought back?
Yes — dull, etched and lightly scratched marble can usually be brought back, because that damage sits in the surface of the stone and comes out with the right diamond abrasives. Deep chips and structural cracks are a different trade, and we will tell you plainly if that is what you are looking at.
How often does marble need doing?
Sealed marble in a domestic property typically holds for a few years before it needs attention again, while high-traffic commercial floors and marble around a pool need doing more often. We tell you what to expect for your particular floor when we quote.
Can we use the floor straight after it has been polished?
Yes — a polished marble floor can be walked on as soon as we finish. Where the stone has been sealed we will tell you how long to keep it clear of water and rugs. In occupied properties we work room by room, so you are never without access to the whole place at once.
